Listening to Natilie Cordone - Chuigivara -- My clock is telling me it's 6:09 am i should probably wake up, but hey wait i am already up, actually i never got to sleep at all. Bad for my body you say, well who cares i smoke, that is bad for my body too huh. The time off from work gave me a lot of time to think about how my life is unfolding. Life is a big adventure on its own. Was this how i thought my life would be like 4 years ago, not a fat chance in hell. If i were to do as i planned to do i would be in China right now teaching them english and mathematics, learning about a new culture and meeting a lot of new people. Instead i am here in Kuwait, and does it suck, well........................ not a single bit. I am happy about it. Kuwait is cool, and it is becoming cooler with time, some people might think i am crazy or something, but if u look work heard and be sincere with urself and others you would enjoy it to. I am a people person, i like the feeling of being surrounded by a lot of people, although i tell you if u see me you wont believe it,I am silent almost all the time, i don't like to speak a lot. This was something that really bothered me. I am new here and i don't know anyone.... but turns out that it wasn't that hard meeting nice people who one can hang out with. I worry too much and try too hard. I am afraid i mess things up because i try hard *see this is me worrying a lot* But hopefully things are turning out good..... Finally .... Googland Republic will be the name of the island and Dr. Eric E. Schmidt, Google CEO, will soon be named "Googland Republic President" while other senior management officials will be ministers.

Me and shopping for cloth .... I go wanting to buy something, but i end up buying something totally different ... I went to centre point wanting to buy 2 white t-shirts, i ended up getting a polo styled black shirt, a grey Lee Cooper Original Blend T-shirt and a cap ... I need to start controlling my self, I can't go out with money in my pocket and not spend anything... I always have something i want to buy .. I wasn't like this, maybe because back in Lebanon i used to get broke at the 10th of the month lol .... Yeah i need to control myself. Work Update: I am still searching for work, i am looking into everything Graphic Design Companies, Marketing and Advertising, Web Design, Communication, Banks etc... I calmed down when i found out that most of the companies i went to need someone with my degree and my qualifications, i still have to sit tight for a while and give it some thinking to see where i want to work, because unlike a lot of people i am seeing in this country i dun like to change work that often, the company i work with is one i will stay with for a long time. You know i need a company where i will be comfortable ... someplace i would like to go to everyday , not a place where i want to get out of as soon as the colck hits 5:00 PM ........

So yeah this Thursday the Bloggers monthly meetup ...... It was so cool seeing all the new faces and all .....A lot of difference compared to last month's meeting ... It was nice again to match the right person to the right blog lol.... I came in with William from http://americathedistant.blogspot.com/ , and a good friend of his whom i enjoyed talking to he is a cool lebanese dude ... i am finally meeting some interesting people here, well i hope we can be friends :) .... we then went me william his friend and another kuwaiti friend to Kempinski and rented some Beach Buggies.. I tell u it was my first time on a beach buggy, i was so excited... soooo excited that i smashed into a pole after like 10 minutes or something... i swear i was on the desert trying to go up on the road and i wasn't very good at controlling the buggy so i ended smashing it up into the pole... Thank god Will had some money to pay the guy or else it was back home to get the money and then go back to Kempinski that's like a 2 hour drive alone... but after all we spent like 2 very fun hours on the Buggies ... it was one good experience .. but i swear lol ... the feeling of me flying in the air after hitting that pole .... it was something else adrenaline was pumping in my viens as fear escalated of something bad happening to my body, i could have easily broken a body part lol ... but it went alright... and i had a blast afterwards.. i would do it again anytime .......... The guys were extra cool .... Will was American, me and an other guy are Lebanese and there was a cool kuwaiti guy too ... we had a good time, then we went to have something to eat before sohoor and got back home .... they are the kind of people i like to hang out with so..... fingers crossed i hope things go well.. anyway i got to go right now ... see ya laterz......... The MIT Media Laboratory expects to launch a prototype of its US$100 laptop in November, according to Nicholas Negroponte, the lab’s chairman and co-founder. The facility has been working with industry partners to develop a notebook computer for use by children in primary and secondary education around the world, particularly in developing countries. The laptops should start appearing in volume in late 2006.
“In emerging nations, the issue isn’t connectivity,” Negroponte said at the Emerging Technologies Conference on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Cambridge campus Wednesday. “That’s not solved, but lots of people are working on it in Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, etc. For education, the roadblock is laptops.” He and his colleagues believe that equipping all children in the world with their own laptop will greatly improve the level of education and help stimulate children to learn outside of school as well as in the classroom.

The laptop can be powered either with an AC adapter or via a wind-up crank, which is stored in the housing of the laptop where the hinge is located. The laptops will have a 10 to 1 crank rate, so that a child will crank the handle for one minute to get 10 minutes of power and use. When closed, the hinge forms a handle and the AC cord can function as a carrying strap, according to Negroponte. The laptops will be ruggedized and probably made of rubber, he said. They will have four USB (Universal Serial Bus) ports, be Wi-Fi- and cell phone enabled and come with 1GB of memory.

To work or not to work that is the question

I knew when i got here two month ago that i want to work doing what i like best, and that is technology, i can't seem myself in another sectors. Most people who come here to Kuwait don't do that, they simply want to work, and they end up wasting years of their life working to get experience in jobs they don't like. When i got here i knew i can either apply to proffessional and well established companies, or join a startup company. With a startup i thought i would be able to grow with that company as it grows. So i applied and i was accepted, we agreed on terms such as the salary and the visa etc.... and i started to work, i really enjoyed working there, it was somewhat professional, but in the end it was a one man show, one person runs everything, and i ended up sitting at my desk all day long doing nothing but taking orders and following them through. I didn't complain, i am a fresh graduate not a manager. Then things have started to change, the amount of work i was entrusted with grew, and the type of that work was not within my job description.. Oh great they finally paid attention to my skills and abilities i thought to myself. I was happy, with this kind of work i can prove myself in no time and hopefully get somewhere from here. The period of evaluation ended and it was time to sign the contract... And here is where things changed, while i was anticipating more rewards for my efforts and a good contract, i ended up getting more responsibilites for less salary... What the heck, why are they doing that ... there reason was well things are changing in this country, we can't pay you what we promised u in the beginning, and we can't give u a Visa (oh yeah they said they would do this for me).... But we really want you to stay with us .... I am not gonna say what the salary was but it was low ... i am an honour's graduate for god's sake.... i am not asking for a lot but i have my standards and i wont go beneath those. So I QUIT... yes I QUIT.... Now i am sitting home looking for jobs, and aiming for the big companies , while the salary may not be that much higher but i know if i stay with the company i will reach places hopefully and even if i leave it to go somewhere else it would be someplace better........ My Visa is being taken care of by my father (god bless him) and i have enough time to study my options and decide best where i want to go ........ I never thought i will say this before, but i really want to work, after experiencing working i found out it was interesting , everyday something new, and new problems to solve......

Acid Night Club - Sin el Fil - Lebanon...... It was a night i can never forgot ... The night i reached my Nirvana.... The night i had my extacy .... I was already filled with alcohol, the bunch of us me and my friends were dancing crazy. Everyone in the club were equal, no males no females, no gays no lesbians, no transexuals, everyone was simply enjoying the music and letting out all their week's frustrations. I am a big fan for anything electronic.... the base banging in the large club hall and echoing off the walls.... the sweat covering everyone ... the look in everyone's eyes, the smiles on their face.... All variables of an equations that helped me reach my extacy.... Alive was fading out, Adagio for strins was fading in ..... i couldn't help but standing still... the base was beating and a creepy shill crept along my spine.... the hair on the back of my neck stood .... everyone were jumping, screaming and laughing... a smile drew on my face watching everyone around me. At that moment i was one with the music. I felt every vibe, every twitch every single thing around me was going through me .. i was emersed in my surrounding ... we all became one... One huge living, breathing creature having fun. It was a feeling of pure hapiness... sheer joy .... no worries just happiness.... people spend fortunes on drugs to reach this feeling, but there i was after spending the last of my 30$ on a tequilla shot , there i was feeling and embracing exctasy ..... It felt as long as a life time... In reality it was just a matter of seconds .... a couple of seconds that i will hold dear to my heart forever. Never will i be in that situation again , you might say i can go again to the same club with the same people, listen to the same music and live that feeling.... I Can't ... how do i know i can't say... But the difference is that i got to have that feeling... even if it was for once ......... Party On People!!!! Ah the good old days in uni, when everynight meant an ongoing war between me and my friends dominating the different maps in Halo, Counter Strike, Call of Duty, and the god of all FPS games BattleField.... The cheer sensation of running back to your base carrying the enemy flag in a WWII Jeep followed by tanks , fighters, bombers and a cruiser bombarding u from the sea, it was quite an experience. I want this back hehehe.... anyone in kuwait who enjoys FPS games, e-mail me we will set something up :)

A friend at work recommended this link and told me to go and check it out, oh my god was it interesting. My all time favourite childhood game of the 80's Pacman ... Is being reincarnated by real people in Manhatten. This project is being developed by NYU's interactive telecommunications graduate program, to explore what happens when you take the games you see on your screens and transfer them into real life. 5 players are used in this game of pacman who are dressed as pacman and 4 ghosts, each player is associated with a controller who has a view of the map and coordinates with the player on where he should go next via cellphone. Life in Kuwait, well what can i say. So far things have been going ok, i slipped into the routine everyone has slipped to before me. I wake up everyday at 7:00 AM between having a shower, wearing my cloth and grabbing some quick sips of Nescafe and quickly burning a cigi i head to work to later than 7:45 AM, I arrive there at about 8:15 people are telling me that when schools start i will arrive much later, so i'm gonna have to wake up earlier. I enjoy the drive to work, it is soothing and relaxing i can simply doze off anywhere i want to really. By the way there are a lot of hot women on Gulf Road in the morning;) this keeps me from getting bored. Work officially starts at 8:30 but i like to come early i hate hearing anything from anyone about punctuality or anything else like this..... I go in make myself a cup of Nescafe, hook my laptop to the network .... and start checking out my favourite sites, and downloading the new webcomics. at about 9:00 AM work officially starts and from that time till like 1:00 PM i am overwhelmed with work and simply i can't go about doing anything else. At 1:00 it is the usual lunch and well browsing the godness that is the company's servers, strange things u find on there, old mp3's funny movies, pictures, and get this before the company was connected to the net employees used to write word documents and leave them for each other on the server...... Everyday i explore a new thingie.... Well after lunch at 2:00 that is .... work will continue again until 5 PM where i simply pack everything up and drag myselft home.... Once home there is nothing i can really do.. i am to tired to go out, to tired to concentrate on reading, i used to read a lot but right now i can't seem to get myself to finish a book. The only thing i can do is either turn on the PS2 or Desktop PC to play games or ..... Watch TV. Then when my parents come back from there work, we simply have dinner, watch a movie or some TV talk with each other and we all go to sleep.... I need friends lol.... but you got me there, how is it possible to meet new people and getting friends if i work from 9 to 5 every single day, and even if i manage to drag myself after 5 to go sit somewhere or anythin, Kuwait simply ain't Lebanon i can't simply go talk with someone, cos unlike Lebanon where the worst thing happening is her telling me no, it might cause a big scene or something.. I hope this problem is solved soon:S Life .... is a journey ..... Journey my ass :D

Everybody wonders what happens after death and pass on to the after life. Will we find heaven, hell, will we be reincarnated or will there be nothing just emptiness. In Bleach death grants its owner entrance to soul society, a peaceful society where people can start a new life. People with grave sins and unfinished business remain floating in our world unseen by many until they are consumed by the reason they are stuck there and then turn into hollows (fallen spirits) which feed on the innocent souls of others.

Ichigo Kurosaki is a 15 year old boy with an attitude, and the ability to see ghosts. This brings trouble one day when he meets a Death God (SHINIGAMI) named Kuchiki Rukia who has the task of hunting hollows. During the confrontation the shinigami’s powers are transferred to Ichigo. Because Rukia needs to wait for a fair amount of time before her powers return to her, she recruits Ichigo on a mission to her hollows as well as other spiritual beings.

I never quite fully understood all the fuss about the IPOD (Yay a truckload of GB mp3 player). After the first IPOD different versions came out with various storage capacities ranging from 4GB to 40 GB i think. Sure the design is cool and sleek, i prefer the U2 special edition Black and Red IPOD. But come on people, all you need is a shuffle. Who is gonna listen to 40 GB worth of music. The 512 MB Shuffle can hold up to 240 songs, thats 12 hours of continous random song playing. Who is going to listen to music for 12 hours in a row..... And then if you get bored with your song selection simply plug it in and download different songs. Very simple. If you want to listen to music simply buy a shuffle, if you want to look fancy buy the rest lineup. The new Ipod Nano i agree is very hot and sleek, and with more than enough capacity to give it's owner more than enough storage to listen to his/her preferred songs. People be practical.... spending almost 350$ on 40 GB Hardisks with an mp3 built to them.... ripp off. ps: Just for the sake of not being flamed or bashed by MAC fanatics, mp3's from all different manufacturers are targeted by this post.

This is an anime which i really enjoyed, very deep at some points but mostly funny and entertaining. You enter a world of of renaissance europe filled with flying antigravity ships and star shaped alien vehicles. Mostly entertaining, this is something i adivce people new to anime to watch it is very light and at wont let you wondering if you understood the content or not. Why do we find it hard to connect with and enjoy Japanese Animation?

A lot of people here in the Arab World enjoy Japanese animation, unless they are strong willed sometimes these fans face problems with peers and parents that could lead them to lose interest and stop this hobby. Peers and Parents always tend to condemn them for watching anime stating that they should grow up, mature and leave cartoons for children. So why do you like Japanese Animation but most of people around you see you doing something wrong and being immature. To begin with Anime has been around for the past 50 years in Japan and for 30 years in America but the explosion and vast spread of anime occurred in the last 5 years mainly because of the people’s exposure to big hit mainstream anime movies such as Princess Mononoke. Interest in these movies led vendors to increase Anime in their stores. Moreover fast internet connection speeds have sprung fans and groups that sub ( the act of adding subtitles to Japanese animation) unlicensed anime (unlicensed anime are outside of Japan) and put them online for people to download. Relatively speaking compared to Japan we are still a little immature not that because we are stupid or anything, but because we haven’t been exposed to Japanese animation as much as they have. We are used to animation teaching kids fundamental and easily grasped moral lessons like honesty, bravery, and kindness to others. People normally generalize that since this is present in most animation, it must be true for all animation around the world. They don’t have hands on experience in watching anime that reveals how thematic, complex and mature they are. Adults tend to distance themselves from animation as a method of validating their own self image relative to their native standards. They are taught from childhood that animation and comic books are for children, continuing to take pleasure in watching animation will be perceived as a sign of immaturity and unwillingness to accept reality. Few Arab youth and adults are mature enough to disregard externally imposed arbitrary sanctions. It is hard for us anime fans admitting this interest. Many of those who used to criticize me for watching Japanese animation are now criticizing me that I haven’t watched any of the latest series yet. But well that is life, maturity has nothing to do with what you watch on TV, at least we don’t spend every single day watching a group of boys and girls sleeping, learning how to sing and eating, well maybe just once a week during primes and special nights J

He started creating comics in 1947, which were extremely popular, and at the beginning of t1963 Tessuwan Atomu(Known outside Japan as Astro Boy) began airing. That is generally considered the beginning of anime-style animated production.

A lot of people often wonder why characters in anime series always tend to have big eyes. First of all not all anime has the big eye style, but most of it does. No one is 100% sure of the reason but there are some theories about the matter. The first person to use that style was Tezuka Osamu, the creator of the old Astro Boy TV series among various other very popular TV shows that became the foundation for Japan’s entire animation and comic industry. As to where he got the idea some say he was emulating Betty Boop, who was popular at Jpana at the time. Other early US produced animated characters that predate the anime style also have very large eyes (Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse anyone). Another reason is that adults find big eyes cute. The most acceptable of them is that huge eyes help artists depict various human states and emotions, through huge eyes they can help bring out various facial expressions that would better describe the character’s state.

Anime (Japanese Animation) are TV series and movies not only made for kids, but a lot of anime is created with teens and adults in mind. They have been doing this for a long time in Japan and are generally considered the best around the world in it. It encompasses the whole range of animation produced in Japan that a similar, relatively realistic style. There are Sci-fi stories (such as Neon Genesis Evangelion and full metal panic), comedies (whether plain out silly or naughty such as Love Hina), action flicks for every flavor, romance stories (from adolescent girl stuff, all the way up, such as Kanon), dramas (some of high quality such as Haibane Renmei), and even literary adaptations. What makes anime stand out from the rest of the animated series and movies (except for excessive violence and nudity) is the way they execute plots. Some of the plots (stories) are fairly silly and very simple allowing viewers to watch to have a laugh and pass time, but others offer ideas that challenge your mind, and stories that are surprisingly deep and thoughtful giving you a reason to think (such as Serial Experiments Lain and in my opinion Full metal Alchemist). But the main reason why people get attached to them is simply because they manage to merge these different genres together providing enjoyable mind blowing animation.

Japanimation condemned by many, loved by a select elite few. And well because i don't think people want to hear my nagging and talking about the new desk i got from IKEA. So why K-Genshiken... Genshiken is an abreviation of the Japanese word Gendai Shikaku Bunka Kenkyuukai, translated into english gives Society for the study of modern visual culture. It is also the name of my favourite anime. A 12 episode series about a group of OTAKU (individual who is obsessed with manga, anime, SF, and so forth. The English term would be "fanboy") living out their daily lives doing the things they like, watching anime, playing video games and fantasizing about girls. And the K well, it doesn't take two to figure that out .... it is for Kuwait. So well expect to see me rambling about various topics relating to anime from Fandom topics, to the difference between Subs/Dubs, Otaku, and why those damsn japanese use huge eyes in their animation.
